Wedding Cake Tales

Any bride out there would know how stressful it is to be planning a wedding.  From the dresses to the shoes, the catering and the decor, right down to how the reception is going to be..

Every one of us has got our dream wedding but not every one of us could get it (not unless you've been saving every single cent since the age of 7.)

Even I, myself have got an idea of what a "perfect" wedding will be. But as time goes by, I realize that it isn't about the "perfect" wedding but it's about who's the one that's gonna be standing next to you for the rest of the journey..

Like everything else pertaining to weddings, the wedding cake is equally symbolic.  It symbolizes fertility & prosperity.

The traditionally accepted practice is for the bride to have the first bite; otherwise, she’d be childless and barren. There’s a time during the reception when the bride will cut the cake, and again, there is a standard practice for this: the husband should place his hands over the bride’s (we’re talking about the knife that’s going to cut the cake, nothing else). The cake should be cut from the bottom layer and never at the top, unless you’d like a replica of the leaning tower of Pisa. After the bride cuts the cake and both she and her groom have had their bites, the cake is quickly wheeled over to the kitchen so that it gets sliced into portions for the guests

All in all, it's how one looks at it.. Whether you believe in traditions or otherwise, it still helps to play it safe & just please the elders whilst doing so..

For most Singaporeans, owning a car is already a dream come true in itself. And then for most drivers, owning a BMW is the ultimate dream come true. But for a couple, they decided to go against the norm by both owning a BMW.
